STIX has been designed to address specific use cases and challenges without meeting the need to record the activities of a system using telemetry. Consequently, STIX has not achieved widespread adoption, leading entities to develop their schemas for each distinct use case. This proliferation of custom data schemas impedes the exchange and integration of cyber threat intelligence among the community and the industry. OCSF tackles this issue by offering a schema that goes beyond adversary-centric tactics and techniques, encompassing a broader spectrum of system-level actions and behaviors.

Do you have any data on this? I don't think this is true. Most TIPs represent their TI in STIX, especially in the US. In Europe, MISP dominates and they also have a solid STIX export function. AFAICT there is only MISP and STIX out there.

The fundamental difference is that STIX is focusing on entities and their relations, thus making it a graph-based data model.
