Country Code: US Strangely, when I tried signing in via https://www.lg.com/us/mylg, I would sign in, and immediately get sent to a second page where it asked me: " LG Account Authentication -- You have an LG account with [email protected]. Please sign in with your LG account password." I would try to sign in there and it kept redirecting back to that same page with the same screen to sign back in ... to which I never really could. Oddly, even though it appeared that I was not signed in, I could hit my account icon at the top and see my products. I figured I would try signing out of my LG ThinQ iOS application, and sign back in there. When I tried that, it told me my password was over 3 months old, and that I needed to reset it. Odd that logging into the website did not reveal that same information. All that said, once I reset my password, I was eventually able to login into the first URL (the one above) to get the second URL to plugin to the Redirection URL for the Home Assistant integration. All is now working as expected. |

Same problem here, had to delete Google account from LG app the re-register as LG account and re-register my washing machine, worked perfectly afterwards. Country Code: HU |

Account Type: LG Account
Any Further Comments: Working perfectly. I'm located in Brazil but the US
account works fine. It has better compatibility with other automation
environments.
Thanks a lot, Ollo69!

OK Here is the most hideous thing about the LG Password Rules I create a password as follows: QwedcVqp58 This sort of IT thinking drives me insane... |
Is there any sort of documentation to actually read regarding the LG thing that was working just fine this morning and for the last 2 years but about 2 hours ago some IT guy had some bee in his bonnet to bring the LG account to a halt? |
and now I have to start the registration of my products all over again So I will rather just stop using any LG devices any longer this is hilariously ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
No, you don't. This is normal behavior, every time (once a year approx.,) the Terms and Condition are changing. Like almost every big company does. |
I am having to login to that stupid app almost monthly to accept new terms and conditions. Its super annoying. Once a year would be reasonable. Every few weeks is not. LG needs to not block API access based on changes to terms and conditions. I'm looking at other appliances to replace the LG ones because of this annoyance. |

LG changed the terms, you need to accept the terms in the mobile application. |
Country Code: CA NOTE: Both account ask to add phone number every time I sign in into mobile app even though I added and verified the phone number in both cases (not sure it affects anything). I see no other prompts. Using Home Assistant 2023.1.7 (Core) deployed on Synology DS418play. UPDATE: The integration works with the same LG account on Home Assistant OS (standalone) |
Country Code: US 9/19/2023 - Just got an email from LG stating they were doing some Server Maintenance and to try it again. No LUCK. Still not login in. 9/27/2023 - Still no luck. 11/2/2023 - Still no luck. Giving up. 12/17/2023 = tried one more time, no luck. I have completely removed old LG account. Made new account. tried again. Still broken. |
I'm getting that my account is registered in another country (which it is, I'm in Brazil) and saying that I should login in the Brazilian website. But then copying the URL doesn't do the trick anymore. |

I don't know if it has been discussed before or not, but LG account with ThinQ SmartTV and LG Smartworld accounts are getting integrated into each other to have one single ID for all of them. Check to make sure because your LG account could have a different ID than your ThinQ account. PS: we need a discussion section |
I get this error and my dishwasher is unable to be added 2023-12-14 03:02:00.469 INFO (MainThread) [custom_components.smartthinq_sensors] ThinQ client connected |

Country Code: US I was concerned with the details about using a social account. So I logged into the LG app to see. Under the MENU, clicked my profile to view 'My Page'. Then I clicked the EDIT PROFILE link which opens an LG website in app. LG told me that I had logged in using a social and that I needed to create an LG account as well to edit my profile. So I filled in the LG account details with my yahoo email. Which 'linked' my social account login to a LG account. Then I logged into the addon using the new LG account details and everything worked great! |

It has recently come to our attention that users of this integration utilize either LG accounts or social network logins when prompted for authentication.
Some users have found success in utilizing different authentication methods, however, the results aren't consistent. In an attempt to remedy this to document and provide a better experience to users, We'd appreciate if you filled out the bellow template with details regarding how you set up the integration. This will allow us to find the correlation [If any] between what authentication method is used and its success or lack thereof.
The template contains examples, please adjust values to match your setup!
