Add search statement or filter beatmap on search bar based on max pp #24896

The best way for players to improve their skills is to play beatmaps that are higher than the maximum maxpp they can reach and not exceed them too much. When playing multiple beatmaps with the same number of stars, I realized that the difficulty of completing 100% of the beatmap is different because OD affects maxpp a lot, leading to one map being more difficult than the other. Then I realized, with 2 beatmaps with equal max pp, map A with the lower number of stars will be the Accuracy map and map B with the higher number of stars will be the Aim map. Practical example that with the same maxpp: 100pp: 200pp: From then on I became less dependent on searching for beatmaps based on the number of stars. Because they are unstable to find the beatmap that suits you. Because it's easier to play a 4* aim map with 100pp well than a 4* accuracy map with 200pp, but players don't know clearly whether that 4* map is an aim or accuracy map if they just look at the stars. Being disoriented and wasting a lot of time finding the right beatmap to improve my pp score based on the 100k ranked map gives me a headache. Sometimes I'm stuck in the middle of life and tired of searching for beatmaps based on max pp from discord bots. Or see information about what players can achieve on the beatmap rankings. Just to find a beatmap that matches my current maxpp I don't know if there is any software that supports this search, but if there was a built-in search command in osu!lazer, and also a beatmap download area, that would be a lot more convenient. I'm very serious about this suggestion to further improve osu!lazer. |

There are plans to have star rating be directly correlated with pp, so OD (length, and other factors) will also affect SR in the future. And to help with your search in aim maps, there are some talks about having skill splitting, similar to osu!tp, sometime in the far future, with one of the skills being aim. |

The big elephant in the room is, what about mods? They'll influence max pp. You could do what star rating filter does right now and only consider max nomod pp. But I don't know that players don't want mods included in that filter either, possibly, if we're spitballing potential improvements. |

I'd like to see this as well. I can see a couple of use cases for this:
If it's possible to access the data of the available PP that is shown on the results screen during song select, it shouldn't be too hard to implement i think. |
