The Jam Session is a monthly event organized by the Atlanta Python Meetup group (PyATL) dedicated to hands-on Python programming. It is free to attend and open to people of all skill levels and backgrounds!
You can find information about the next meetings on the Meetup website:

Fundamentally, any hands-on Python programming. The main event is a puzzle or challenge which changes every month, and that is purposely designed to be both accessible to beginners and interesting for more advanced programmers.
In parallel, you are free to bring any Python project or question that you would like to work on! The Jam Session is a great place to ask for help or explanations regarding anything Python-related. The PyATL group also has a couple of projects that it works on, such as podium-django.
The purpose of the jam sessions is not to teach Python from the ground up. However, novice programmers are still welcome! We suggest that you pair up with somebody else and work with them. Maybe you can ask them to guide you through their thoughts, or collaborate to solve the monthly challenge.
Yes, preferably. Otherwise, you can still collaborate with other members of the group. Be warned that the venue for the event cannot accommodate electric outlets for everybody, so make sure your battery is full before coming.
The Jam Session takes place every first Thursday of the month, from 7 PM to 9 PM. You are free to arrive early and have dinner before (or during) the event. We also usually stay for some time after to have a chat.
Our hosts are Manuel's Tavern, east of Midtown Atlanta. There is parking for the restaurant, or you can come using MARTA bus lines 102 or 816. Lines 2 and 6 also run two blocks away.
The location and times may change, so always check the Meetup event for information! We occasionally skip a session when it coincides with a holiday, in which case we will cancel the event on Meetup.
