  • @locks and @frewsxcv are stepping in as current stewards.
  • Stick with Python for now.
  • Set up as a separate AWS account.
  • Can bill @nathanhammond for now and he'll figure out money.
  • Meetings will be set up weekly.
  • Initial team members will be an invitation to basically anybody who has forked homu in the past plus stewardship from Rust and Ember communities.
  • @erickt and @booyaa will reach out to their past meetup speakers and encourage them to give their talks at other meetup groups.

Adjustments and updates to the plan as discussed continue to play out in https://github.com/rust-community/bors/issues/1

@frewsxcv and @locks can I encourage you to flip through this list of people and see who it makes sense to reach out to and rope into this effort? Recommendation: all of them.

Hey ____, we saw you were interested in making homu successful. We're spearheading an effort–co-sponsored by the Ember and Rust teams–to build a community-focused tool and make it more invincible to the problems of depending on a single person's open source time. We'd love for you to contribute. Our weekly meetings are on ____ day at ____ time and our meeting notes appear ____. Stop in!

On our list right now is getting a hosted instance set up, building tooling to make sure that it's easy to work with, and building out an Ember application as its user interface. Talk to either @locks or @frewsxcv to find explicit laid-out tasks that you can pick up and work on!

And then, @locks and @frewsxcv, y'all get to come up with the list of steps you want to accomplish and how people can help. We've seen over and over in the Ember community that writing long descriptions of how people can contribute makes it so that people do contribute.
