Is this macro expected to be eventually stabilized, and part of idiomatic use of
MaybeUninit
?Adding this is fine for now (
src/test/ui/macros/macro-stability.rs
tests that#[unstable]
works as expected onmacro_rules
) but it’ll likely be revisited before stabilization. We’ve been very conservative so far with adding macros to the prelude.There was a problem hiding this comment.

(If stabilized, this can presumably be eventually be deprecated and replaced with a constructor function when const generics are stabilized.)

Good question. I do not know. But I don't have a better story than this currently for handling uninitialized arrays.

I don't think this should be stabilized ever; I assumed it was a hack around the lack of #49147 which subsumes
uninitialized_array!
and then some.
