We get engineering candidates that use my old (and unmaintained) EA template where they should only be using our monorepo due to the docs pointing to them. I have no intention of updating the old templates so let's get them off the docs.

The external monorepo is a really hard for new engineers to jump into. @dwightjl, perhaps devrel should take the template under our wing, and we can point to both. What do you think?

I think I suggest forking Thomas's code to another, we point to that, and additionally we point to the monorepo.
