# Using sourmash plugins to extend functionality

sourmash v4.7.0 introduced support for plugins, which make it possible
to extend sourmash functionality in a variety of ways. Below is a
partial list of available plugins.

## Speeding up searches with the `branchwater` plugin.

The `branchwater` plugin provides fast foo.

The `branchwater` plugin is available via conda as
`sourmash_plugin_branchwater` on conda-forge.
