My story is a short one. Found Neverball in and around 2005, fell in love with the game and the community. Took over maintenance in 2009. Took a long break starting in 2014, started doing web development professionally, realized I can apply that to Neverball. Started a family. You can see where this is going. I've got ideas for Neverball, but can't justify spending hours on it.
Trimmed TODO list, not in any particular order:
- Progressive web app (PWA) - make a web app installable on device
- Share levels and replays via URL (click the link to play)
- Tiny compressed replays that are resilient against hosting issues, ideal for web archive
- Compile old versions of Neverball with Emscripten to build a web museum
- Turn into a JS library for integration on any web page - think gallery/video lightbox, but for Neverball replays (only really makes sense for a forum/contest website)
- Wordle style daily challenge
- Nevertable (replay contest) revival
