This page describes why WakeMe@ needs the permissions that it requests when you install it.

Fine (GPS) location

If you can't figure out why a location-based alarm needs to know your location, then you should probably stop reading now.

Full Internet access

This is for the maps: it uses Google Maps, which needs to download its data from the internet

Change your audio settings

When you're in the app, using the volume buttons changes the alarm volume (instead of the system default)

Prevent phone from sleeping

This it to wake the screen when the alarm goes off

Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage / Modify or delete the contents of your SD card

This it to allow the app to back-up it's location database to the SD card
