We encourage the organization of local SREs meetups in order to decentralize the knowledge and to meet people sharing the same interests in your city.
- Before choosing the date, check if there's no other events at the same time (SRECon, DevOps Days, Meetups, a major movie release (e.g Dune II), etc.) and it's not a holiday in France.
- Announce the event using our official Twitter and Telegram accounts via a pull request here
- Define the format of the event, only talks, fireside chat, round table discussion or workshop
- When creating the Meetup event, do not forget to add a custom question: "Do you plan to attend the meetup remotely?"
- Publish updates about the event, like the agenda, topics and speaker names
- Send a message to every speaker to tell more about the hardware, network and software (Zoom, Google Meet, etc) required for the event and to ask if they have some special needs
- Check recording, chat, share screen, microphone features
- Link event accessibility supported browsers and authentification requirements
- Do the venue provide Pizza, drinks, glasses, etc ?
- Don't forget to take some photos, of the venue, every speaker and during the networking time (they will be useful to share moments from the event)
- Collect all the speaker's slides and put them under a new folder under meetups/ using the format
YYYY-MM-DD
- Publish a summary of the event with all the links to slides and recordings on the official SRE France website via a pull request with content like this
- Share the summary/post with the sponsor and all the speakers
- Linux User Group HOWTO https://tldp.org/HOWTO/User-Group-HOWTO.html
- GitLab Meetup Checklist https://about.gitlab.com/community/meetups/checklist/
