About the Product

Gupshup is a collaboration platform based on W3C Activity Stream 2.0 . An activity stream describes the activities performed by a user on a website. Activity stream can be related with the activities you perform on some social netwoking websites. Examples:

  • You post messages, pics, and videos in Facebook. Similarly, you post tweets in Twitter.
  • You follow users you like.
  • You join groups and communities you like.
  • You post to such communities and also receives posts of other members of the community.
  • And so on.

All these activities can be implemented with activity streams. World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has released the Activity Stream 2.0 specification, based on which standard activity stream systems can be built on.

Such Activity Stream systems might be implemented as small to mid-size applications intended to cater to a small user base – may be tens and thousands of users. But Gupshup is an enterprise grade system with millions of user base, handling some billions of data each day with millions of activity stream message distributions per second.

Gupshup is created to be an extremely high scalable Activity Stream system having capability of handling millions of messages per second.
