- Find icon on Noun Project or Flat Icon website. The icon should be relatively easy to transform - as simple as possible with mostly straight lines or lines with one curve.
- Open the icon in Sketch. Select all the icon elements and press ⌘ + C.
- Open a new document and create an 100x100px artboard.
- Paste the icon elements (⌘ + V), then delete all the unnecessary elements. If an element has an "inside" and "outside" - select the element, press Enter, select and delete the points along the inside edge.
- Uncheck the fill and delete it, then add a 3px stroke. Click the gear icon on the top right of the stroke box and select rounded ends and rounded corners.
- Create lines with the same height as the original lines (press L for shortcut)
- Select all but the main element and drag them into the main element. Set the combine style to none by clicking the icon to the right of the element name.
- Export the artboard as an SVG.
- Open up the SVG file in a text editor.
- Remove all the extraneous information and save.
