Hi everyone! ✌️
We developed tiptap to use it in our (mildly successful) side project Scrumpy. We felt the need to share it with other developers, though, we’ve never expected to get the attention of more than 10-20 people.
A lot has happened since then. Thousands of stars and millions of downloads. 🤯 The integration in more and more tools (GitLab, Statamic, Nextcloud, Craft CMS …) and - that’s the most impressive thing to me - a lovely community of people that create issues, answer questions and send PRs: Christoph Flathmann, Erick Wilder, Marius Tolzmann and all the others! 🙌 Thank you so much!
Though, we struggled to find a way to fund the maintenance and the development of version 2. There were a lot of opportunities to get a little money (venture capital, selling licenses …), but none felt right. Finally, we have a plan!
We’re going to move tiptap to the GitHub organization of the agency, Philipp and I co-founded with 6 others (https://github.com/sponsors/ueberdosis). The repository will be available under a new name (ueberdosis/tiptap), but don’t worry. It’s the same people, just a stronger foundation.
We’ll use this issue to keep track of what will change. Feel free to put questions regarding the migration here!
Thanks everyone,
Hans
