First of: There are video tutorials, if they are more to your liking you can watch them here.

  1. Get the latest release: Release page

Windows

  1. Extract the contents of the folder plugin inside the zip file to the obs-studio installation directory: Installation

Linux

Note: If you have access to the AUR, you can install the plugin via the package obs-input-overlay-bin

  1. Install libuiohook
  2. Unzip the plugin
  3. Create an input-overlay folder in ~/.config/obs-studio/plugins: mkdir -p ~/.config/obs-studio/plugins/input-overlay
  4. Copy the contents of plugin into the newly created folder

Extract the folder "presets" to a place, where you can find it again and you're done
