1920x1280 with black bars on 3440x1440

Hi there!
I'm struggling to find a way to resolve it, so you can probably help me.
I have an MI monitor 3440x1440 and I always play on my Windows laptop with a screen resolution of 1920x1080 with blackbars. When I switched to mac, I just want to do the same as I used to. But now the screen is fully stretched and the image is super bad.
I would really appreciate if you could help!

If you are outputting a native 1920x1080 non-scaled output, then the display should have an option to turn off scaling/stretching. You can also try creating a custom scaled in the app under the display's setting (in the configuration editing section), these are usually not presented as stretched but keep the aspect ratio properly.

It didn't help as far as I understand your suggestion.
But I figured out how to fix it:
I created a Virtual Monitor 1920x1080 and mirrored the main display on it, so now I have 1920x1080 on my widescreen monitor with black bars.

Yes, that is a working solution as well. :)

Were you able to create the scaled 1080p resolution (at the display's System Configuration and Flexible Scaled section, under Custom scaled resolutions? If so, you can switch to that mode using the Display Mode menu and selecting Filter/Show All (or a 16:9 aspect ratio filter tag) and switching to the mode. You can add it as a favorite as well. Or does that look improperly scaled too?

Today your suggestion is working, thanks 😄 Yesterday I failed to do that. So it's much simpler and easier!
