This release is the last one directly compiled by Sphinx using only the reStructuredText format. The last update for this release was committed on Mar 23, 2021. Starting in 2022, I am gradually rewriting the content and the doc structure using the Jupyter Book-based format (a combination of reStructuredText, MyST markdown, Jupyter Notebooks, and Sphinx).
Version 1.2 will also be the last one that includes tutorials for the GMT classical syntax (GMT 5 and earlier). However, in each chapter, I plan to provide the final scripts using the classical syntax, the modern syntax (GMT 6), and PyGMT.
V1.2 has 13 completed chapters and 3 more chapters that are under construction:
- GMT / PyGMT Introduction and Installation
- Software and Packages
- Basic Concepts and Terms
- Make Your First Map
- Color the Topography
