  • Be specific as to which UI element you are referring to. ("The navigation bar on the left")

When you launch an application, the product window appears, for example, the Developer Portal. The application window is often divided into a navigation bar on the left and the content area on the right. A menu bar might appear at the top; in this case, you might need to specify "The navigation bar on the left" to help differentiate it from the menu bar at the top. The UI might also be divided into tabs.

  • A secondary window that appears when you click a link or button is a ** dialog box**.

  • The menu bar contains menus, which contain commands.

  • When you right-click an object, the menu that appears is the pop-up menu.
