As of January 2023, this feature is no longer functioning due to a change in the Google Analytics model. If this is a feature your institution utilizes or plans to utilize, please reach out to us and let us know the priority.

Google Analytics can be used to track DMPTool access statistics for your institution. Typical audience statistics retrieved by Google Analytics include: number of sessions, users, average session duration, and pageviews, as well as detailed technical information about your users.

Follow the directions provided below to add a Google Analytics tracking code to your organizational profile on DMPTool. As soon as you do so, all access to DMPTool from users based at your institution will be collected by Google Analytics and available via the Google Analytics application.

  1. Get a Google Analytics Account. You can set this up at https://analytics.google.com/
  2. Create a new property for the DMPTool website on Google Analytics
  • Click on the Admin option in the bottom left hand of the interface
  • Select "Create Property" Create New Property in Google Analytics
  1. In the "Website URL" field of the "Property Settings" section, enter the DMPTool URL: dmptool.org/ Add web URL to Google Analytics Property

  2. Add the tracker code to the DMPTool Organizational Details page (e.g. UA-123456-7) Google Analytics Tracking Code Location

You should now be able to see usage reports for your institutional account on DMPTool.org via the Google Analytics interface.
