TODO:

  • finish stabilizing code and tests
  • repl_img_outdated should be also running in "exclusive"
  • how to fine-tune the LOCK_TIMEOUT parameter?
  • performance tests with multiple images
  • reliability tests - simulate network error during rsync

qcow2 backing chain (2). Convert it to a single
qcow2 first.
