HttpServer not throwing exception when given a string as port number

HttpServer httpServer = new HttpServer();
httpServer.onError = (e) {
  print("Error $e");
};
httpServer.listen("0.0.0.0", "1234");

httpServer.defaultRequestHandler = (request, response) {
  print("Getting resource ${request.path}");
  response.outputStream.writeString("foobar");
  response.outputStream.close();
};

This will not throw an error or call the onError handler.
