For now this is mostly an example - but it seems useful to have the
ability to test rendering output, either for regressions or with different options.

Pending:

  • no idea what is the effect of the platform on this - i added a render from my system
  • i also tried to use the offscreen platform - but no success yet, i suspect the virtual screen is too small by default also only works on x11
  • fonts and font availability in the CI environment
