Evohome Wireless Messages

This wiki describes the format of the messages transmitted by devices in the Evohome system.

It does not describe the content or meaning of the messages, only the bitstream used to transmit them.

For messsage content and usage see The Evohome Protocol wiki

Method of transmission

The messages are transmitted as a bitstream between devices using 868MHz radios.

The bitstream is the output of an 8N1 serial UART at 38400 baud. i.e. each byte of data is transmitted prefixed by a START bit and followed by a STOP bit.

The data bits are transmitted least significant bit first (LSB).

A stream of bytes forms a Packet.

Each packet is a container for a single Evohome Message

Hardware

The Hardware Platforms page describes the requirements for hardware that can be used to capture the packet stream and details of various specific platforms that hav been used.

HoneyWell Devices lists the hardware information known about different Honeywell devices used in the Evohome system
