###Practical Exercise 1 - Software installation To install bedtools:

cd $RNA_HOME/tools/
wget https://github.com/arq5x/bedtools2/releases/download/v2.25.0/bedtools-2.25.0.tar.gz
tar -zxvf bedtools-2.25.0.tar.gz
cd bedtools2/
make
./bin/bedtools

###Practical Exercise 3 - QC On you local machine, download this file: http://cbw**.dyndns.info/rnaseq/practice/data/hcc1395_normal_1.fastq.gz

Using FastQC, open this file and allow it to complete the QC analysis

  • How many total sequences are there? 455,217
  • What is the range (x - y) of read lengths observed? 25 - 100
  • What is the most common average sequence quality score? 38
  • What is the most common kmer that is observed? AACCATC
