Travel

Information about visiting and traveling to LBNL can be found at http://www.lbl.gov/visit/ and http://www2.lbl.gov/Workplace/Transportation.html.

LBNL has a free shuttle bus that travels every 5- 10 min between downtown Berkeley (from a BART station) and the LBNL campus. You will need to take the blue route, not the orange route. See http://www2.lbl.gov/Workplace/Facilities/Support/Busses/all_routes.html

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is a train between the airports, downtown San Francisco and Berkeley. See http://www.bart.gov

Lodging

You will need to make your own reservations, no rooms have been reserved.

LBNL has its own on-site accommodations at the Berkeley Lab Guest House, http://www.berkeleylabguesthouse.berkeley.edu/.

There are several hotels nearby in Downtown Berkeley, for example

The Shattuck Plaza and the Durant provide fast access to the meeting location via LBNL's free shuttle buses and are within walking distance of the Berkeley BART station.

If you choose to stay in the city of San Francisco, you will want to make sure you're near a BART station, preferably Powell, Montgomery, or Embarcadero stations. To get to the meetings, you would need to take BART to Downtown Berkeley. It takes about 1 hour between Downtown San Francisco and the LBNL campus.
