Add google login to website lucide Icons has no Google icon, and as it turns out, they don't allow any new branch icons lucide-icons/lucide#670 and will be removing old ones. So only for logos of brands, we can use this new library, otherwise we stick to lucide
@mittalyashu @ericfennis @karsa-mistmere @jguddas Would adding a Markdown icon violate this? (even if an abstraction) |
@danielbayley markdown icon we should accept I think. Commonly used to indicate markdown fields for example. |
still a brand |
Kind of similar, if we start accepting library and framework logo's (React, Vue.js) |
@mittalyashu I don't think we should, React for one is objectively too detailed for our guidelines. |
@vexkiddy: All of these are protected by copyright, so no, unfortunately we cannot officially add them, since they would need to be altered to match our guidelines. |
The GitHub and GitLab icons are marked as deprecated, and will eventually be removed for legal reasons IIRC. Nothing we can do here. |
…cons Using Lucide Icons instead of React Icons for more consistent look and preference toward a lighter-weight library. Still using react icons just for brand logos as [Lucide does not have them](lucide-icons/lucide#670).
How to use simple icons or convert them to lucide icon ? |
Download SVG, use as SVG. Or something similar. Depends on your framework really.
You don't. They have roughly the same dimension, but it's a completely different icon set. |
How about creating a separate package with just brand icons. They don't have to follow the same design guidelines as all the other Lucide icons but share the same API and have the same tree shaking abilities. Then you could add unmodified versions of the brand logos/icons to comply with the copyrights and design guidelines? |
Thank you for considering to add a new brand/company icon to Lucide. But, we're no longer accepting new brand icons.
