Ethical Issues

  1. Are users’ privacy expectations met by your software?
    • Yes, users, privacy is our biggest concern as it’s very important to have a secure medium of sharing information. Our focus is to be as transparent as legally possible to the users to make sure they are well aware of their privacy options. We would also include privacy options where the user can easily modify who they want to share their information with.

  1. Could the use of your software result in racial, gender, religious, or any other type of discrimination? How does your software try to mitigate this problem?
    • No, this software could not be used to demonstrate any kind of discrimination. Our core idea is to allow users to build a profile and share it with one scan with their friends and family, so anyone can make a profile and use our services regardless of their racial, gender and religious identity.

  1. Can your software by abused by some users to cause harm to other users? or to the public at large? How do you mitigate it?
    • This software could not be used to cause harm to other users. Since it can only be used to store contact information which will be encrypted.
