Please follow the guide below

  • You will be asked some questions and requested to provide some information, please read them carefully and answer honestly
  • Put an x into all the boxes [ ] relevant to your issue (like that [x])
  • Use Preview tab to see how your issue will actually look like

Make sure you are using the latest version: run youtube-dl --version and ensure your version is 2017.06.23. If it's not read this FAQ entry and update. Issues with outdated version will be rejected.

  • Site support request (request for adding support for a new site)
  • Feature request (request for a new functionality)

Add -v flag to your command line you run youtube-dl with, copy the whole output and insert it here. It should look similar to one below (replace it with your log inserted between triple ```):

They're using the same player as zdf.de, which is already supported. Same video downloads via https://www.zdf.de/comedy/neo-magazin-mit-jan-boehmermann/neo-magazin-royale-mit-jan-boehmermann-vom-22-juni-2017-100.html just fine.

@Nothing4You Nothing4You changed the title NEO MAGAZIN ROYALE not working through its own site [Request] Support neo-magazin-royale.de Jun 23, 2017

The start button of the player contains a data-sophoraid element:

<a href="#" data-player="PROTO_PLAYER_137606_500_0" data-sophoraid="neo-magazin-royale-mit-jan-boehmermann-vom-22-juni-2017-100" data-sophoraimage="" tabindex="0" class="module-player overlay" title="(Quelle: ZDF)" data-ready="true"></a>

Putting the content into the ZDF link like this: https://www.zdf.de/comedy/neo-magazin-mit-jan-boehmermann/<content>.html and passing it to the ZDF extractor should work.

neo-magazin-royale.de is now a redirect to https://www.zdf.de/comedy/neo-magazin-mit-jan-boehmermann. I think this can be closed.
